What do I do when I finish?

Be sure to keep moving so that we don't jam-up the finish line. You can follow the crowd back to the tent for post-race refreshments too!

Will there be an award ceremony?

No, all awards will be mailed so that our volunteers can get home to their families and friends faster! :-)

Can I buy a race shirt?

We will sell leftover shirts for $25 on race day.

Can I buy a volunteer shirt?

No, you have to earn it! :-)

Can I change my shirt size?

Yes, take the *unworn* shirt you pre-registered for to the late registration area after the race and exchange it there.

Can I get previous years' shirts?

If there are any leftover shirts from previous years, you can purchase them at the race expo! The proceeds from the previous years' shirt sales are donated to our local food bank, so you can feel doubly good about buying them!

Race Starts

• The Red corral will start at 8:30. 

• The Blue corral will start a few minutes later, and the Green corral a few minutes after the Blue.

• The Yellow corral (walkers) will start after the Green.

• To minimize the chance of injuries, you must start in your assigned corral.

Can I change from the 5-mile event to the 1-mile (or vice versa)?

Yes, go to the Trouble Table at the Expo and they'll work with you to get switched between events. There may be a cost if the race you are switching to is more expensive than the race you are switching from. Due to the high volume of folks switching, we will not offer refunds nor partial refunds for changes from more expensive races to less expensive races.

Walking Strollers

• As a family event, the Turkey Trot will allow participants to walk with strollers as long as you place yourself at the back of the green corral for the five mile event or at the back of the yellow corral for the one mile event. 

• For the safety of your child as well as your fellow participants, absolutely no strollers of any kind will be allowed in the red or blue corrals. 

• If you are walking with your child in a stroller, you do not have to register/pay a separate entry for the child in a stroller unless you want a shirt/bib for them.

Course Support

There is one water stop with portable toilets at Rice Field, which is about halfway through the course. There will be medical personnel at the start/finish and in at least two areas along the course.

Race Guidelines

All participants sign a waiver stating, “I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby  joggers, roller skates or blades or animals are not allowed  in the race and I will abide by this guideline.  Use of headsets is strongly discouraged.”

Please adhere to these guidelines and follow all instructions from race officials.

How Do I Wear My Race Bib?

The bib with your race number on it has your timing chip attached to the back.  It also contains important information for safety and identification. Please pin this on the front of your outermost garment.  It will record the time as you cross the mats at the start, midpoint and finish of the race.  Your chip/bib does not have to be returned at the end of the race.

What's the Foam on the Back of My Bib?

This is your timing chip.  DON’T REMOVE IT! Please note, your race time starts when you cross the mat, not when the gun goes off.  Please start in your assigned corral and wait until it is your turn to start.
